OTHER FILE ACCESS OPTIONS:

If you do not have a PC and Internet Explorer, below you will find information on other ways to access the ttclass server.

- WebDAV (PC, Mac, and Unix access)

WebDAV allows you to access files and directories via the WWW. It provides a click and drag environment that gives you the ability to drag files to and from these directories.

In addition to any built-in support for WebDAV which might be present on your computer, the following option is available for PC access:

You may download the client software from the HelpDesk web page: http://www.helpdesk.umd.edu/systems/glue/all/4024/

Once downloaded, configure Webdrive:
  1. Click on the "New Site" button in the lower left
  2. You may type in any name for the site that will help you remember what it is (ex: TTCLASS)
  3. Type in the URL: https://ttclass.umd.edu/USERS/
  4. Click the "Finish" button. The window below will display.

  5. Choose WebDAV from the drop-down list
  6. Choose a Drive on your computer that is not being used.
  7. Click on the Connect button

- Secure FTP (PC, Mac, and Unix access)

Secure FTP allows the secure transfer of files to and from TTCLASS using secure ftp (sftp) client programs available for most operating systems.

General instructions on using sftp may be found at the help desk web site: How to use

For Windows, the help desk has a client available here: F-Secure
For the Mac OS, a client is available here: Fugu

- MAC OSX (Mac OS specific access)

Instructions for connecting from a Mac using software built into the system are available here:
Mac OSX Instructions

- Windows (PC specific)

There is a software client, called TTLogin, that you can download here. For connections from outside the University, it requires that you use the VPN client. Unzip this zip file and copy the 3 files to your hard drive. Run the program to login. Use your UMD directory ID and password to login. If you have any difficulties, email tt-support@umd.edu
